A Breath of Fresh Art 2021
A Breath of Fresh Art was an outdoor event featuring performing and visual arts in the idyllic setting of Primrose Retreat. That year's event was themed around Environments: From Rural to Urban to Global. A Breath of Fresh Art included all outdoor performances by musicians, dancers, and writers; art installations by visual artists; and learning opportunities through talking circles and workshops.
Performances and talking circles took place on Saturday, September 18 at 1:00-3:00 PM and 4:00-6:00 PM.
A Breath of Fresh Art is hosted by Katherine Kramer Projects with generous support from Dane Arts.
A Breath of Fresh Art 2020
A Breath of Fresh Art was first launched in October 2020 as an opportunity for artists to share site-specific works at Primrose Retreat.
The event was designed to be an outdoor structured Art Walk, including both visual art installations and performers of dance, music, and spoken word. The first installment of A Breath of Fresh Art was, in many ways, a response to COVID-19 and the cultural and political challenges we faced in 2020. It provided 25 visual and performing artists with an outlet for their work and an opportunity to support Southwest Wisconsin Area Progressives (SWWAP) in their work to Get Out The Vote.
